Since 1966, Craftworks has worked with Vancouver adults who are unable to seek and maintain regular employment due to physical challenges and/or mental illness, to participate in meaningful work. Innovative programming includes personalized regular one-on-one support at home and diverse community partnerships.
The 411 Seniors Centre is an easily accessible, multi-purpose social and recreational drop in facility for seniors.Centrally located in downtown Vancouver, the Centre offers a variety of programs, services and special projects for seniors. It also houses several Associate Members who directly or indirectly work with seniors.The Centre is directed by the 411 Seniors Centre Society, with a Board of Directors, a small staff and a number of volunteers.
A Loving Spoonful is a volunteer-driven, non-partisan Society that provides free, nutritious meals to people living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Vancouver.
Every week, all year round for over 19 years, our volunteers deliver approximately 1200 frozen meals and over 250 snack packs to men, women and children who are primarily homebound with AIDS. Our average meal cost is only $3.55. A Loving Spoonful is the constant support of over 250 adults and children living with HIV/AIDS throughout the Greater Vancouver area.
Adoptive Families Association of BC is a province-wide, non-profit society, which offers information, support, and assistance to families and individuals involved in the adoption process. Our organization serves the adoption community by providing up-to-date information through our magazine, library, and provincial, national, and international level; and by promoting adoption as a viable means of building families. The Association dedicates itself to children in need of homes, both here and abroad.
AIDS Vancouver exists to alleviate individual and collective vulnerability to HIV and AIDS through care and support, education, prevention, advocacy and research.
