When You registered with Us, You may have created an unique login ID and created a password in order to use certain portions of the Portal. In addition to Personal Information You provide and cookies, Sola Caritas may collect other information about Your visits to Our website. For example, We may collect information about Your computer, such as Your IP address (a number assigned to Your computer whenever You surf the World Wide Web); the type of Internet browser You are using; the type of computer operating system You are using; or the domain name of the website from which You linked to Our website. This information will not be linked to Your Personal Information and will only be collected in the aggregate in connection with all the Users of Our website for planning, forecasting and/or evaluation purposes.
Please note that this Policy does not cover aggregated data from which the identity of an individual cannot be determined. Sola Caritas retains the right to use aggregated data in any way that it determines appropriate.
Sola Caritas has no control over the content of third party websites that may be identified on the Portal or accessed through hyperlinks.
3. Your Consent
Your provision of Personal Information to Sola Caritas means that You agree and consent that Sola Caritas may collect, use and disclose Your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy. If You do not agree with these terms, You are requested not to provide any Personal Information to Sola Caritas. Certain services can only be made available if You provide Personal Information to Sola Caritas. Consequently, if You choose not to provide Us with any required Personal Information, Sola Caritas may not be able to offer You certain services.
If You do not wish to receive information regarding the services offered by Sola Caritas and its trusted affiliates, partners and sponsors, please send an email to the person indicated at the end of this Policy.
4. How Sola Caritas uses Personal Information
Sola Caritas will use all information collected from its Users in connection with the operation of the Portal. Sola Caritas may use Personal Information collected through the Portal to: (i) provide Users with the service and information that has been requested; (ii) personalize Users’ experience with the Portal including but not limited to displaying and/or making available certain content that may be of specific interest to particular Users; (iii) contact Users directly regarding the services and programs offered and/or supported by Sola Caritas and its trusted affiliates, partners and sponsors; and (iv) understand User preferences in order to enhance and personalize Users' experience with Sola Caritas and such affiliates, partners and sponsors.
Sola Caritas' use of Personal Information is limited to these purposes. Unless permitted by law, no Personal Information about a User is collected, without first obtaining the consent of the individual to the collection, use and disclosure of that information
5. Disclosure of Personal Information
Sola Caritas may disclose Personal Information of Users to organizations that perform services on behalf of Sola Caritas ("Service Providers") as well as to the charities and corporate partners that authorize and/or who have a presence on the Portal. Personal Information will only be provided to Service Providers and the charities and corporate partners under the instruction of Sola Caritas and, with respect to that information, to act in a manner consistent with the relevant principles articulated in this Policy. However, Sola Caritas bears no responsibility for any other use of such Personal Information by the Service Providers and charities and corporate partners.
Please note that there are circumstances where the use or disclosure of Your Personal Information may be justified or permitted or where Sola Caritas is obliged to disclose information without consent. Such circumstances may include:
(a) where Sola Caritas believes that the law requires it;
(b) where Sola Caritas believes, upon reasonable grounds, that it is necessary to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of an identifiable person or group;
(c) where the information is public.
Where obliged or permitted to disclose Your Personal Information without consent, Sola Caritas will not disclose more information than is required. Sola Caritas does not sell or otherwise disclose to third parties any Personal Information that it has obtained.
6. Maintenance and Security of Personal Information
Sola Caritas retains Personal Information about Users as long as Sola Caritas believes it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and in accordance with applicable law. Currently, Sola Caritas holds the Personal Information in the City of Spring Valley, California. Personal Information about Users that is maintained on Our systems is protected using industry standard security measures. However, We cannot guarantee that the information submitted to, maintained on, or transmitted from Our systems will be completely secure and transmission of information over the Internet is susceptible to possible loss, misrouting, interception and misuse. Additionally, please note that Personal Information may be available to the government of the United States or its agencies under a lawful order made in the United States.
7. Access to Personal Information
Sola Caritas provides individuals with access to Personal Information held about them.
If an individual believes that his or her Personal Information on file is not correct, he or she may request an update of that information by sending a request to the person indicated below. Sola Caritas reserves the right not to change any Personal Information but will append any alternative text the individual concerned believes appropriate. An individual may also request that Sola Caritas delete an individual's Personal Information from Sola Caritas' system and records. However, due to technical constraints and the fact that Sola Caritas backs up its systems, Personal Information may continue to reside in Sola Caritas' systems after deletion. Individuals, therefore, should not expect that their Personal Information would be completely removed from Sola Caritas' systems in response to an accepted request for deletion.
Sola Caritas reserves the right to decline access to Personal Information where the information requested:
(a) would disclose the Personal Information of another individual or of a deceased individual;
(b) would disclose business confidential information that may harm Sola Caritas or the competitive position of a third party;
(c) is subject to solicitor-client or litigation privilege;
(d) could reasonably result in:
(i) serious harm to the treatment or recovery of the individual concerned;
(ii) serious emotional harm to the individual or another individual; or
(iii) serious bodily harm to another individual;
(e) may harm or interfere with law enforcement activities and other investigative or regulatory functions of a body authorized by statute to perform such functions;
(f) is not readily retrievable and the burden or cost of providing would be disproportionate to the nature or value of the information; or
(g) does not exist, is not held, or cannot be found by Sola Caritas.
Where information will not or cannot be disclosed, the individual making the request will be provided with the reasons for non-disclosure. Where information will be disclosed, Sola Caritas will endeavour to provide the information in question within a reasonable time and no later than thirty (30) days following the request.
8. Amendment of Sola Caritas practices and this Policy
This statement is in effect and was last revised as of October 15, 2008. Sola Caritas will from time to time review and revise its privacy practices and this Policy. In the event of any amendment, an appropriate notice will be posted on the Portal. Policy changes will apply to the information collected from the date of posting of the revised Policy to Sola Caritas’ website as well as to existing information held by Sola Caritas.
