Do It Day is a nation-building event that connects people with good causes for a day of volunteering and skills-sharing each year. Do It Day 2009 – on Friday, 18 September – aims to mobilise volunteers to show that, although we may be short of financial resources at the moment, each one of us has something meaningful to contribute to development.
This is an opportunity for South Africans to work together and do their bit for the country in the run up to the Fifa World Cup in 2010, seeking out a number of volunteering projects that involve urban greening and sport and youth development.
So get your hands dirty while doing something positive for your community. Join sports stars and other celebrities in projects that range from creating community vegetable gardens to fixing up run-down care homes and more.
